Six craftsman led by master Luo Chuanduen sit in the lobby of GLORIA MANOR as strips of bamboo dance beneath their hands. Slowly and surely, a gradually disappearing Taiwanese tradition and art skill comes to life.
As guests enter into GLORIA MANOR’s lobby and tilt their heads up, they will find that on the ceiling of the lobby hangs a majestic bamboo weave. The hexagon shaped openings within the bamboo weave draw parallel to the hexagon tiles found in the lobby, signifying the greatest of luck, and the longest of lives. Having travelled down South upon invite, six craftsman from Nantou, all experts in producing bamboo, worked together to create a bamboo weave masterpiece in hopes of translating the Taiwanese spirit of perseverance, integrity, and modesty, allowing guests from around the world to understand Taiwan’s unique culture and traditions.
